Swiss Re wins Life Reinsurer and General Reinsurer of the year awards at the AIIA 2013
"We are thrilled to win both awards. A big thanks to our distinguished judges, clients and broker partners for giving us this fabulous recognition for our innovation, collaboration and client-focused solutions. The awards are made more special by the fact that we celebrate our 150th anniversary this year," said Moses Ojeisekhoba, CEO Reinsurance Asia, after the 17th Asia Insurance Industry Awards ceremony held in Singapore on 6 November 2013.
Our clients are our life-blood and we've established a dedicated Life & Health Client Management function providing dedicated client managers, supplemented by specialist solution groups and Asia-focused research expertise. Examples in the past year of Swiss Re Life & Health delivering client value include launching a campaign to help the industry rethink its health insurance offering and developing innovative solutions, helping a client in Korea to launch the first simplified product of its kind, and partnering with a pharmaceutical company and an insurer to introduce a cancer insurance product to Chinese customers.
Last year we won the general reinsurance honour for demonstrating industry leadership and commitment to clients after a year of unprecedented catastrophes. This year, we led the way in sharing knowledge and insights taken from these events, working with clients to develop innovative products, enhancing Nat Cat tools and claims management, and partnering with governments for pre-disaster financing.
"I want to thank all the Swiss Re team in Asia for their relentless pursuit of improvement in our offering for our partners. These awards are of course because of them and I'm delighted that their hard work has been recognized," said Moses. "But we will not rest on our laurels. There remain significant protection gaps across Asia and as an industry, we can definitely do something about it. We are committed to putting our global expertise to use and partnering with our clients to support the sustainable growth of the insurance market - all with the aim of narrowing these protection gaps. Here's to the next 150 years."
